Update + Giveaway This Week!

Okay, so I know I’ve been bad at posting lately. My computer is a huge pain, and my tablet was missing for days. My goal for next month is to get back to it with full force.

I will do my best to get the last few April reviews up before the week ends. I also have a giveaway in the works, which I’m planning on posting on Friday, so stay tuned!

Box News! Julep & Citrus Lane

Sorry, whoever cares, for the lack of blogging on my part. The past month has been filled with birthdays & parties & holidays & other busy things! I plan to continue blogging as often as possible. Hopefully, the rest of the month will bring less craziness. So onto the latest happenings!

First off, HAPPY EASTER! Kayde, C, and I celebrated Kayde’s very first Easter today! I think it went well, although he is extra crabby today.

IN BOX NEWS:

Image

A few things going on with Julep. First, this month almost every box will feature the new Plie Wand. I’m pretty excited about this and so glad I re-subscribed. I’m HORRIBLE at painting my nails (Kayde could do better) so I have high hopes that this new tool may help me out a bit.

Image

The colors for this month are fresh spring colors, such as a pretty blue pastel and a gorgeous mint. The Plie Wand comes with all the basic polish boxes this month, but there are a few other options as well. Also, for May boxes, you get double jules! I switched my style from It Girl to Boho Glam this month. I also chose the Plie Creativity Kit as an add-on (also in hopes of bettering my nail painting abilities). Here’s a sneak peek of what I chose this month:

Also in Julep news, the cost/options for your subscription will be changing beginning in June. Check out the details HERE!

To sign up/check out the box options for May CLICK HERE! Also, if you’re a new subscriber use the code “FREEBOX” to get your first box for free! You have to pay for shipping, but if you add $10 worth of merchandise to your cart, shipping is free!

April Square Hue Review

Image

Square Hue sends you three themed nail polishes every month, right to your door. They cost $19.99 a month. This was my first month getting Square Hue, and I really liked it. They even ship in the beginning of the month, which is great while waiting for all your other mid-month sub boxes. (;

Image

First Look

Square Hue sends their polishes in cute little boxes. What I like most about the packaging is that the polishes are set in little holes in the box that fit them perfectly. They look so neat and organized I’ve been keeping them in there.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Image

P.C. Hooftstraat – This is a duochrome polish. It’s my favorite of the box. It has a purple/blue color to it that changes depending on the angle. It’s seriously gorgeous! I’ve been hooked on these sort of polishes lately, so I was ecstatic when I saw it.

Image

Kalverstraar – This polish is a high gloss creme. It’s a super pretty pink. I have nothing like it, and although I’m not a pink polish kind of girl, I love it.

Image

~ Beethovenstraat – This is also a high gloss creme. It’s very different from anything in my polish collection, and I’m not sure I’ll keep it. It’s just not something I could ever pull off.

MY THOUGHTS: I’m very happy that I tried out Square Hue. I plan to continue this subscription for a bit. I love the packaging and really appreciate the variety in colors and finishes.

April Citrus Lane Review – 24 Month Old

Image

Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box that sends full size children’s products to your doorstep. They often include one mommy gift as well. The cost is $29 per month. Kayde has been getting CL boxes for about six months now. We love them and get so excited every month that they arrive at our doorstep. (i get more excited than Kayde, don’t judge.) Kayde got a few boxes this month using credits and because it was his birthday on the 3rd. This is the review for his box aged up a year, 24 months.

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Image

~ Green Toys Tools & Things ($10.00) – The price is just an estimate based on the full set. The full set is $27.99 and includes twice the amount of tools plus a toolbox to store it all in. This set came with two screws and the little piece you screw it into, a saw, and two different screw drivers. It’s a really cute set and Kayde really loves the screw drivers. Of course, they’ve become another weapon for him.

Image

~ Green Eats Tumblers ($5.99) – Made from recycled milk jugs, these are a great first cup. It’ll be a while before Kayde uses a normal cup and we already have a few, so this wasn’t kept. I already traded it (along with my other set) for some Hape Qubes from last month and a Green Toys flower set. (:

Image

~ Barefoot Books The Prince’s Bedtime ($9.99) – This is a cute book about a Prince who refuses to go to sleep, despite the best efforts of everyone in the kingdom. It comes with a a storytime CD with two versions of the story.

Image

Mrs. Meyers Dish Soap ($1.00) – No idea how much the value of this is, as it’s only a sample size. Usually, I wouldn’t be thrilled about receiving soap. But I keep seeing other bloggers posting photos and raving about Mrs. Meyer’s grease fighting power, so I’m now hoarding all my samples of it from CL. I’ll let you know how I like it.

Image

Treat Greeting Card Offer ($3.49) – Free first greeting card from Treat. This will be great for personalized cards for holidays!

MY THOUGHTS: The total value for this box is $30.47. Barely over the cost of the box. But if you get a good deal on a box, it’s worth it, and I think the value of the items themselves are worth the full price. Product wise, this was a great box!

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Image

~ Green Toys Race Car ($8.99) – This toy car is made from recycled plastic milk jugs. It’s pretty decent sized and seems very sturdy. Kayde loves cars lately and even makes a sound for them (which is adorable!), so I know he’ll be thrilled to find this in his Easter basket!

Image

~ Green Eats Snack Bowls ($6.99) – These come in a package of four and are also made from recycled milk containers. They’re pretty thick and durable. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with them yet, as Kayde has a million bowls already. I have the Green Eats Spoons & Forks which I almost gifted, but ended up keeping them and absolutely loving! So, we’ll see.

Image

~ Barefoot Books Peek a Boo Book ($14.99) – This super cute board book encourages children to peek through the holes on the pages to see what comes next. The one we got is “Who’s in the Farmyard?”.

Image

Treat Greeting Card Offer ($3.49) – Free first greeting card from Treat. This will be great for personalized cards for holidays!

MY THOUGHTS: The total value for this box is $35.46. Not the highest value, but still more than you pay for it.This wasn’t my favorite box from CL, but it was still a good one.

April Citrus Lane Review – Newborn

Even though Kayde is a year old now, I decided to get a newborn box since we started CL when he was already around 5-6 months old.

Image

First Look

WHAT’S INSIDE:

Image

~ Green Toys First Keys ($7.99) – This is a cute teething toy made out of recycled plastic milk jugs. It has nice vibrant colors and seems pretty durable. Kayde is too old for this, so I’m going to gift it to my newly born cousin.

Image

~ Zoli On-the-Go ($15.00) – This is a formula and/or snack container. the top is designed to screw on as a spout to pour formula into bottles. We already have a snack stacker that we looove, but I really like this so I’m on the fence about keeping  or gifting it.

Image

~ Under the Nile Sleeping Doll ($11.00) – This is an adorable doll made from hand-picked Egyptian cotton. I already bought Kayde the Under the Nile tooth fairy doll because of how freakin’ adorable it was, and it’ll be so cute to store his lost tooth in the pocket for the tooth fairy. Anyway, I knew that I would love this sleeping doll almost as much. I got to pick which I wanted and went with a mint green, but I ended up with this striped grey one. I’m assuming they ran out of the green, which I’m completely okay with. (I’m a grey fanatic.) The point of this rant is…. this doll is adorable and you must buy one for your child. (;

Image

~ Mrs.

~ Treat Greeting Card Offer ($3.49) – Free first greeting card from Treat. This will be great for personalized cards for holidays!

MY THOUGHTS: The total value for this box is $38.48. So, good value, especially since I only paid about $9 for it. I think this is a great newborn box. Even at Kayde’s age, I could still use some of the items.
